The hotel was originally a 16th Century olive oil mill for the neighboring convent and the historical character of the property remains today. Évora has been classed a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and the Albergaria Do Calvário is in keeping with this accolade.

Once in Évora look for one of the main entrances to the old city: Porta Nova.
